- چکیده
- این رساله به طرح و تبیین رابطه¬ی نشانه¬شناسی و معماری اختصاص دارد، نشانه¬شناسی به عنوان چهارچوب نظری¬ای که به مطالعه¬ی نشانه¬ها و فرآیندهای تأویلی می¬پردازد و معماری به عنوان هنر و فن ساختن. امروز، در آستانه¬ی صدسالگی نظریه¬ی نشانه¬شناسی¬، یکی از پرسش¬های اصلی در نقد آن به میزان فراگیری عناصر و المان¬های طرح شده در آن مربوط می¬شود. به یک معنا نشانه¬ی مورد مطالعه¬ی نشانه-شناسی از چه گستره¬ای انتخاب می¬شود؟ و اگر این بازه آن چنان گسترده است که نظام زبان، آیین¬ها، مراسم و آداب، تبلیغات، موسیقی، مد، سینما و ... را شامل می¬شود، چه تدابیری برای مطالعه¬ی این نشانه¬های متفاوت اندیشیده شده است؟ بر این اساس در این جا امکان¬پذیری حیات یافتن ترکیبی موسوم به "نشانه¬شناسی معماری" مورد پرسش قرار گرفته است. پرسشی که به نوبه¬¬ی خود سوالات بسیاری را بر می¬انگیزد؛ از جمله، ظرفیت¬ها و توان¬هایی که نشانه¬شناسی برآن تکیه می¬کند چگونه به دنیای معماری گسترش می¬یابند؟ نشانه¬شناسی رابطه¬ی شکل و معنا در معماری را چگونه تعریف می¬کند؟ مقیاس¬های مختلف شناخت و بهره¬وری از معماری چگونه در چارچوب مطالعه¬¬¬ی نشانه¬شناختی جای می¬گیرد؟ آیا نشانه¬شناسی به¬کار گرفته در بازشناسی معماری متفاوت است از نشانه¬شناسی آن¬گونه که در حوزه¬های¬ دیگر تجربه ¬شده است یا نه؟ پاسخ¬گویی به این پرسش¬ها¬ در این سه مرحله که سازنده¬ی فصول اول تا سوم این رساله¬اند صورت پذیرفته است: (1) بررسی مشخصه¬های نظام¬های ارتباطی مورد مطالعه¬ی نشانه¬شناسی؛ (2) بازشناسایی مولفه¬های شکل¬دهنده به معماری و شناسایی ارزش ارتباطی برای مجموعه عناصر آن؛ و (3) گسترش مشخصه¬های نظام¬های ارتباطی به معماری. فصل پایانی این پژوهش نیز با تکیه بر این مباحث بر مصداقی از گستره¬ی معماری و رابطه¬ی آن با نظام تصویر (به عنوان نظامی ارتباطی که سابقه¬ی طولانی-تری در بحث¬های نشانه¬شناسی داشته است) متمرکز شده است.
- Abstract
- The aim of this thesis is to explore the connection between semiotics and architecture,semiotics as the science of systems of signs and architecture as the art and science of building. Today, a hundred years after the emergence of semiotics, one of the major issues it is criticized by regards its growing field of study. In other words, the signs, the core subject of semiotics study, belong to which field? And if this field is that expanded to include language, traditions, customs, commercials, music, fashion, cinema, etc, what have the semiologists come up with to deal with this wide variety? Thus, we are questioning here the possibility of forming the combination known as “semiotics of architecture”. This will arise a number of questions, such as (1) how can the calibers and methods of semiotics expand to the field of architecture; (2) how does semiotics study the relation of form and content in architecture and how does it consider the different scales through which architecture is experienced; (3) is the semiotics applied to architecture different from the one studying other field of human science? These topics have been discussed in three parts which have formed the first three chapters of the thesis. The first part dedicated to semiotics explains the basic elements of semiotics and points out the characteristics of communicational systems being studied by semiotics. The second chapter dedicated to architecture, outlines the elements of architecture and discusses the ones having a communicational value. The third part considers the expansion of the characteristics of communicational systems to the field of architecture. Finally in the last chapter, an architectural example will be analyzed and its relation to the System of image, as a system having a longer history in semiotics will be explored.
