    Abstract
This study aims at finding whether Persian adults and adolescents as foreign language learners tend to learn a specific variation of English language and to find out which variation of language they like to learn and use in their interactions within their own age-group. The researcher divided a total number of 117 participants to 2 groups of teenagers and adults and showed them a part of 2 movies from the same genre, one with characteristics of teenager language and the other with features of adult language. After showing them each movie, two listening comprehension tests which were constructed based on the movies, including a pair of preference questions at the end of the comprehension test after the second movie were given to the participants. Each group had to do each test two times, for taking the first one they were presented with the video and for the other with the audio. The results reveal that teenager foreign language learners like to speak and learn a language with the features of adolescence language whereas adults choose the standard language. And for one of the main goals of learning a language is to be able to communicate with that language, the implication of this research for Iranian English teachers is to present their adolescent students not only with the standard variation of English, but also with the variation of English which is spoken by native teenagers in order to assist them better with learning English as well as using it as a means of communication. Also to provide them with materials that are more suitable to their age rather than using the same materials which are used for adults.
