- Abstract
- The present volume of Pahlavi Texts book is a reprint of the first volume of " The Pahlavi Texts" contained in the Codex MK. ,copied in 1322 A. D., by scribe Mehr – Awan Kaikhusru , edited and preface by the learned Dastur Jamaspji Minochehrji Jamasp – Asana , printed in Bombay in the year 1897, and of the second volume of the " Pahlavi Texts" , written by the same scribe , edited by the same editor and introduced by the famous Scholar Bahramgore Tahmuras Anklesaria, printed in the same city in 1913, long after the death of the editor This thesis is devoted to prepare a usable glossary for the Pahlavi Texts book which contains 33 texts in Middle Persian and includes various concepts and different senses. This glossary is provided in such a way that Pahlavi word, transliteration, transcription, meaning, grammatical type and frequency have been brought, respectively, for each word. Due to the great significance of Pahlavi Texts book in Middle Persian literature, in this effort we tried to prepare a complete set of Pahlavi texts and providing the readers easier access to the words and concepts.
