Subject: An Academic Appeal on the Assault against Science, Knowledge, and Civilization

Your Excellencies,

I hope this message finds you well. As leaders committed to fostering peace, stability, and mutual understanding across nations and academic communities, we are faced with pressing global challenges that demand our collective attention and action.

Recent Israeli aggression against I. R of Iran, as well as the increasing influence of external pressures and bullying by certain powers, destabilize regional and international peace and security which undermine the principles of sovereignty and independence of states. These issues resonate deeply within our academic communities, which serve as platforms for dialogue, education, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence.

In light of these circumstances, I am reaching out to urge your esteemed institutions to stand united in advocating for respecting international law and mutual respect among nations. Our Universities have a vital role in shaping future leaders who value diplomacy over conflict and dialogue over aggression.

Let us leverage our collective influence to promote understanding, oppose violence, and support efforts aimed at de-escalation and remove all acts of aggression endangering civilian lives. By uniting our voices and actions, we can contribute meaningfully toward fostering a more just and peaceful world.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter. I look forward to your support in championing these ideals within our academic communities.

Truly yours,

Prof. Mohammad Hossein Omid

President of University of Tehran, I. R. of Iran
