University of Tehran delegation visits China
On 15-17 November 2024 , the University of Tehran delegation was the only Iranian delegation present at the World Chinese Language Conference, which was hosted by Beijing and attended by more than 2,000 experts from 160 countries. In addition to participating in the specialized panels of this congress, the representatives of University of Tehran visited the exhibition of the latest achievements of Chinese language education and exchanged opinions about the production of common and local educational resources..
In this conference which was held under the theme of Chinese issues and Chinese language and literature, the message of Xi Jinping, the president of China, was read on the subject of the vast capacity of the Chinese language and literature and the importance of expanding mutual understanding in the world. Also, in his speech, Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Education of China, introduced the Chinese language as a key to understanding the civilization of the Middle East..
During this trip, the delegation of UT also participated in a joint meeting with the presence of the presidents of Yunnan University of China, Dhaka University and North-South University of Bangladesh and the head of Confucius Education Center of Myanmar.
In this meeting, the representatives of University of Tehran, while pointing out the history of cooperation with Yunnan University in the field of HSK exams, the opening of the first specialized library of Chinese language and literature with first-hand works in the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature, the holding of the joint 2+2 course of Bachelor of Chinese Language and Also, areas such as water and floods and Iranology voiced the readiness of UT to cooperate in other fields such as international law, law of the seas and biology
The signing of a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding on scientific-research cooperation between UT and China's Yunnan University was one of the other achievements of this trip. Based on this Memorandum, the interaction of the two universities will be implemented in the field of marine law and biology.
Abdolmajid Eskandari, the Director General , Office of International Relations, Dr. Farideh Alavi, the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature, and Dr. Hamed Vafaei, the Iranian Director of Confucius Institute of UT , represented University of Tehran in this trip.
