HSE
During the visit of the University of Tehran delegation to HSE, an important Letter of Cooperation regarding student exchange was concluded.
This document was signed by Prof. Victoria Panova, Vice president of HSE, and Prof. Elham Aminzadeh, Vice President for International Affairs, University of Tehran.
In this meeting, they discussed a number of current issues related to university cooperation and the expansion of international relations, exchange of professors and students, as well as the holding of sports events.
In particular, the issue of possibility of holding the Sports Olympiad of the BRICS countries, including unique competitions in blind football, was raised.
In addition, the participants of this meeting addressed important issues such as artificial intelligence, the impact of sanctions on the economy and currency relations, as well as the future of payment systems until 2050.
The delegations expressed interest in teaching and studying Russian language and literature as well as Iranian language and literature.
In this meeting, on behalf of the University of Tehran, Vice President for International Affairs, (Professor of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences ,i.e. Prof. Elham Aminzadeh, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs on Legal Affairs, and Prof. Nahid Sheikhi Jolandan, Deputy Director General for International Student and Academic Staff and Coordinator of Cooperation with Russian universities, and Prof. of Department of the Russian Language was present.
On behalf of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation, the Scientific Adviser of the Iranian Embassy in Russia, the official representative of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran in Russia, Hadi Guderzi and Kirill Brezgunov, the Assistant Scientific Adviser were present.
The representatives of HSE in this meeting were Prof. Victoria Panova, the Head of the BRICS Undergraduate Council and the International Vice President of the University, Prof. Kseniya Shevtsova, the Director of the Department of International Cooperation and the Deputy Head of the BRICS Undergraduate Council, Prof. Kirill Kissel, the General Manager of the University's Internationalization Affairs, Alexander Dave, The Director General of Work with Talents Abroad was Felix Azhimov, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Alexander Larichov, Vice President of the Faculty of Law, and Alexander Lukin, Director of the International Relations Department of the Faculty of World Economy and Politics.
University of Tehran is a public research university that was established in 1934. Today, this university is the best university in Iran and has taken the first place in international rankings. The student exchange agreement is an important step in strengthening the cooperation between HSE and University of Tehran opens new horizons for the students of the two countries.
HSE Vice-Chancellor , Prof. Victoria Panova noted the mutual interest in developing relationships between universities.
"Today, we have taken an important step towards strengthening our academic relations with University of Tehran. This agreement not only opens up new opportunities for our students, but also creates a platform for the exchange of knowledge and cultural traditions of our countries. Prof. Victoria Panova emphasized: We are sure that such initiatives will help mutual understanding and strengthen friendly relations between Russia and Iran. »
In July, a delegation from HSE led by Dean, Prof. Nikita Anisimov participated in a ceremony on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Tehran and the 1757th anniversary of higher education tradition in Iran, where a cooperation agreement was concluded. It was signed between HSE and University of Tehran.
Financial University
On September 16, 2024, a delegation from the University of Tehran (Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran) headed by Vice President for International Affairs, UT and Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Elham Aminzadeh, visited Financial University during an official visit.
This delegation included Prof. Nahid Sheikhi Jolandan, Deputy Director General for International Students and Academic Staff and Senior Coordinator of Cooperation with Russian Universities, Scientific Counselor of the Iranian Embassy in Russia, Official Representative of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran in Russia, Dr. Hadi Gudarzi and Kirill Brezgunov, Assistant Counselor.
During this visit, a meeting was held with Prof. Ekaterina Kamenova, Vice-Chancellor of Education and Methodology of the Financial University, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communication, Prof. Alexander Shatilov and Vice-Chancellor of Scientific Affairs Prof. Anna Suchilina.
Prof. Katerina Kamenova further emphasized the importance of comprehensive cooperation: "We are sincerely pleased to expand our partnership on a solid foundation of real action and mutual trust. These are not just words - they are a reflection of our common goal and desire for meaningful results "
Prof. Elham Aminzadeh added that this cooperation is beyond a commercial partnership and represents a real exchange of cultural and scientific values. She admired Russia's rich history and unique culture, as well as its outstanding scientific achievements.
According to her, joint efforts can inspire the new generation to achieve achievements that strengthen the relations between the two countries and cultures. The key point of this meeting was the signing of the memorandum with the aim of further developing academic cooperation.
The main factors of further cooperation will be joint scientific research, participation in conferences and seminars, as well as the creation of a network training program on global politics in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communication.
University of Tehran delegation visited MGIMO University
A delegation from the University of Tehran, headed by the Vice-President for International Affairs and Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Professor Elham Aminzadeh, visited MGIMO.
In this delegation, Prof. Nahid Sheikhi Jolandan, Deputy Director General for International Student and Academic Staff, Senior Coordinator of Cooperation with Russian Universities, Scientific Counselor of the Iranian Embassy in Russia, Official Representative of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran in Russia, Dr. Hadi Guderzi and Dr. Kirill Brezgunov, Assistant Counselor were present.
On behalf of MGIMO, :Prof. V.E. Saligin, Director of the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy, welcomed the guests.
This meeting was held with the presence of Prof. Reshetnyak, Adviser to the University President, Deputy Director of MIEP, Prof. Vasiliev, Prof. I.A.Guliev, Zhuvakin and Head of the International Department, Prof. E.V.Andreev.
Prof. Saligin spoke about the history of the creation of MIEP and the main areas of education, the interaction of MIEP with the largest Russian energy companies, and informed the guests about the main projects of cooperation with foreign partner universities that are currently being implemented.
Prof. Vasiliev shared the results of a summer school held in June at MGIMO with the participation of six students from the University of Tehran.
The Head of the International Department, Prof. Andreev, informed the Iranian guests about the active development of academic cooperation between MGIMO and Iranian universities in recent years and pointed out the growing interest of Persian language students of MGIMO University to take short-term or long-term training courses in Iranian universities.
MGIMO University, in turn, is ready to provide short-term and long-term internship courses to Iranian students in the form of exchange programs, including Russian language training at various educational levels.
The mentioned official also pointed to the long-standing cooperation with Allameh Tabatabai University, which annually accepts MGIMO students to study in the summer language school, and the student exchange agreement with Isfahan University, and expressed hope for the activation of university student and educational exchanges with UT.
Vice President for International Affairs, University, Professor Elham Aminzadeh, while thanking MGIMO for its active interest in developing cooperation with University of Tehran, while confirming the positive opinion of students participating in MGIMO summer school, emphasized the importance of holding such events to further expand Iranians' understanding of Russia.
The official also confirmed university’s interest in various fields of scientific cooperation, especially in the field of studying innovative technologies in the energy sector, alternative energy sources, energy diplomacy and law, as well as the prospect of developing the energy complex.
One of the topics of discussion was the implementation of two master's degree projects between MIEP and UT in the direction of "Energy Diplomacy and Strategic Management in the Energy Sector", which is to be launched next year with the support of the university's partner, the Russian Railway University.
At the end of this meeting, gifts with university symbols were given to the guests.
Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism
On September 21, 2024, Prof. Elham Aminzadeh, Vice President for International Affairs, University of Tehran, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Prof. Nahid Sheikhi Jolandan, Deputy Director General for International Students and Academic Staff, Senior Coordinator of Cooperation with Russian Universities paid an official visit to the Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism.
On behalf of the Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism, Prof. Masyagina Natalia Vasilievna, Rector of the university along with her Deputies and the Director of the Regional and International Cooperation Department welcomed the guests.
During this visit, for the first time, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the University of Tehran and the Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism.

In this meeting, they discussed a number of current issues related to academic cooperation and the development of international relations, exchange of professors and students, as well as holding joint sports courses and events and holding tours and training courses related to tourism. The delegations expressed their interest in teaching and studying Russian language and literature, as well as Iranian language and literature, and University of Tehran announced its readiness to start a Department of Persian language and literature.
In the continuation of this visit, in order to get more familiar with the university, the esteemed Vice President for International Affairs of UT visited environment, sports halls, training classes, dormitory and self-services of the university.
Lomonosov Moscow State University
A delegation from the University of Tehran, headed by the Vice-President for International Affairs and Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Professor Elham Aminzadeh visited Lomonosov Moscow State University on 16 September, 2024.
In this delegation, Prof. Nahid Sheikhi Jolandan, Deputy Director General for International Students and Academic Staff and, Senior Coordinator of Cooperation with Russian Universities, along with Scientific Counselor of the Iranian Embassy in Russia, Official Representative of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran in Russia, Dr. Hadi Gudarzi and , Russian Scientific Assistant Advisor were present.
The in-attendance officials included Representatives of Lomonosov Moscow State University in this meeting Prof. Yuri Mazi, Vice Rector for International Cooperation, also Head of the Department of Development of International Student Cooperation, Deputy of Prof. Mazi, , Deputy Head of the Department of Development of International Student Cooperation and Dr. Maxim Delinad, the Coordinator (Secretary) of the Iranian and Russian Top Universities Rectors’s Forum .
Prof. Yuri Mazi, Vice Rector of International Cooperation, referring to the long history of education in Iran and the position of the University of Tehran in Iran, expressed his satisfaction with the continued cooperation with the University of Tehran and emphasized on strengthening and comprehensive development of mutual cooperation.
Among the main points of discussion in this visit, the following can be mentioned:
- Agreement to hold a joint course on "Translation Training" in cooperation with the "High School of Translation" at Master's level
- Scholarships for University of Tehran students in different stages
- Mutual agreement to hold internships and in-service training programs and using special internship sites of Lomonosov Moscow State University
- Holding joint summer and winter schools
- Investigating joint programs and courses between UT Regional Studies Department and Lomonosov Moscow State University
- Inviting University of Tehran to participate in the ceremony of the 275th anniversary of the establishment of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the meeting of heads of BRICS member universities.
- Agreement based on scientific cooperation in the field of air and space and follow-up on the memorandum of understanding on joint satellite production
Vice President for International Affairs, University of Tehran, Professor Elham Aminzadeh, while thanking the active interest of Lomonosov Moscow State University o develop cooperation with UT, expressed her university's interest in various fields of scientific cooperation, especially in the field of studying innovative technologies, artificial intelligence, etc.
Vice President for International Affairs, University of Tehran along with her accompanying officials visited the old building of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Asia and Africa Institute and Persian Language Department.
