The message of the President of University of Tehran on the martyrdom of the President of the Islamic University of Gaza
In the name of God, the compassionate, the merciful
I express my sincere condolences to the Muslim nations, the freedom seekers and free thinkers of the world, the scientific community, on the unjust martyrdom of Dr. Sufyan Tayeh, the President of the Islamic University of Gaza and his family.
Today, the crimes of the racist Zionist regime have caused intensive genocide of innocent civilians amongst them more than 6 thousand children. In addition to the multitude of blind attacks, the martyrdom of the honorable President of the Islamic University of Gaza, is a clear testimony about the planning of targeted operations in order to eliminate the elites, scientists and scientific resources.
Professor Sufyan Tayeh, a Palestinian physics professor, was one of the world's leading scientists who was among the top 2% of researchers in the world in 2021.
Expressing my sympathy with the academics, the scientific community and the general public of Gaza and the Muslims in the world, we expect the presidents of the world's universities to unanimously condemn this brutal actions of the Zionist regime against the oppressed people of Palestine and especially the martyrdom of this world-renowned scientist.
Moreover, we expect UNESCO to take a stronger position and to bring the case of killing the scientists and innocent people to the legal and judicial organs of the UN to investigate, prosecute and punish those who ordered and committed these crimes.
Therefore, it is necessary that all truth-seeking academics and thinkers, regardless of race and religion, in order to protect common scientific values, while condemning this act of the Zionists, use different tools and scientific forums to put an end to this shameless crimes.
