University of Tehran in the subject ranking of Academic Ranking of World Universities (ShanghaiRanking)

Academic Ranking of World Universities (or ShanghaiRanking) is one of the most important university ranking systems in the world, along with the QS and Times ranking systems. This ranking system ranks the world's top universities every year based on numerous teaching, research, educational environment, etc. indicators. During recent years, University of Tehran has managed to maintain its first place among all Iranian universities in the Shanghai ranking.

After several months have passed since the publication of the world ranking of universities in 2023 (which the University of Tehran managed to rank 401 to 500), recently the ranking of this system in various subject areas has also been published. In the latest subject ranking of the Shanghai Ranking, University of Tehran has been able to achieve a significant ranking at the global level in some subjects:

• Water resources ranked 37th in the world
• Mechanical engineering ranked 51st to 75th globally
• Biomedical engineering ranked 51st to 75th worldwide
• Civil engineering ranked 51st to 75th in the world
• Mining and mineral engineering ranked 51st to 75th globally
• Instruments Science & Technology ranked 76 to 100 globally
• Food Science and technology ranked 76 to 100 worldwide
• Agricultural sciences ranked 76 to 100 globally.

While maintaining its superior position at the national level, University of Tehran is planning to improve its global ranking as well as its subject ranking in other fields as well.
