National day of Pakistan celebrated in Tehran

Tehran (IP)- Pakistan's National Day celebration was held on Saturday 11 March, 2023 in Tehran with the presence of Pakistan's ambassador to Iran, Iran's Minister of Energy, Pakistan's Minister of Energy, and several parliament members.

Iran Press/ Iran News:  At the beginning of this celebration, Rahim Hayat Ghoreyshi, the ambassador of Pakistan in Iran, while expressing his happiness with the resumption of diplomatic relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, said: the tripartite statement of China, Iran, and Saudi Arabia has been effective in normalizing the relations between the two countries, and Pakistan is also moving in this direction.

Referring to the level of Iran-Pakistan relations, he said: regional relations and especially the transit area are of interest to both sides. while the two countries always have the same position regarding the Muslims of the world, the relations between the two countries have entered their 76th year.

Following the celebration, Khorram Dastgir Khan, Pakistan's Minister of Energy, while referring to the fields of energy cooperation between the two countries, said: an agreement has been signed regarding the supply of 1000 megawatts of electricity from Pakistan to Iran.

Khorram Dastgir Khan also pointed out that the two nations of Iran and Pakistan are brothers and emphasized on the common cultural, historical, and religious of the two countries.

Iran's Minister of Energy, Ali Akbar Mehrabian, added that Iran was the first country that officially recognized Pakistan's independence.

During the last year, Iran and Pakistan took practical and good steps to improve economic relations, and now two projects are ready to be inaugurated, he stated.

At the end of the ceremony, the guests took a commemorative photo and cut the Pakistan National Day cake.
