Muharram mourning ceremony held at UT main campus
On the 3rd of August, 2022, UT academic and administrative staff plus students took part in a ritual to commemorate Muharram in the main campus of University of Tehran.
The Islamic month of Muharram marks the martyrdom anniversary of Prophet Mohammad’s grandson Hussain ibn Ali (A.S.) in Karbala, Iraq.
The event is marked in Iran with massive public gatherings and street processions.
