IFLA Oasis Landscape and Agriculture Initiative to Be Launched
The International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) will host a webinar to announce the launch of the Oasis Landscape and Agriculture Initiative. The IFLA Working Group on Agriculture and Landscape will launch this international initiative with a view to illuminating and promoting the role of landscape architecture in the sustainable production and distribution of food in semi-arid and arid climates.
The webinar features three distinguished keynote speakers: Prof. Carl Steinitz, Professor Emeritus at Harvard Graduate School of Design and author of A Framework for Geodesign, Dr. Joshua Zeunert, Scientia Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney), and Dr. Alberto Giani, an eminent Italian scholar.
The event will be held in collaboration with Dr. Mahdi Khansefid, Assistant Professor of Landscape Engineering at the UT College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Tree of Life Landscape Webinar Series, and a number of other international organizations and specialists in the field from Japan, Italy, Iran, Australia, Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Canada, and the United States.
The online event is scheduled for August 7, 2021 at 17:30 (local time in Iran, GMT+4:30).
