First Polish Design Summer School Takes Place at UT

UT PR: The First Polish Design Summer School was held at the School of Industrial Design, UT College of Fine Arts. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tehran and the Warsaw Institute of Industrial Design, with renowned scholars, designers, and students majoring in the relevant fields in attendance.
First Polish Design Summer School Takes Place at UT

According to UT College of Fine Arts, Dr. Joanna Jurga, University Lecturer and Product and Interior Designer, Justyna Puchalska, Interior Architect and Design Manager, Kama Wybieralska, Product and Lighting Designer, Maria Przybyszewska, Food Designer, and Aleksandra Pawlowska, Scent Designer, delivered lectures in this three-day virtual course. The discussions revolved around the role of human senses in design.

As part of the requirements of the course, students should develop projects centering on products and service design with a view to address the question of mental wellbeing in the era of pandemic.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland supports developing the prototypes for the selected projects, and an exhibition will be held to put the prototypes on public display.

Dr. Maryam Khalili, Faculty Member at UT School of Industrial Design, was the executive secretary of the event. The scientific secretaries of the course were: Dr. Mehran Fateminia, Faculty Member at UT School of Industrial Design, Dr. Adel Mazloumi, Faculty Member at TUMS School of Public Health, and Dr. Joanna Jurga.
