Nine UT Faculty Members Named “Iran’s Leading Scholars”
At the 4th Leading Scholars Convention held on June 17, the Leading Scholars Federation conferred the title of “Iran’s Leading Scholar” on nine UT faculty members in the presence of the Vice President for Science and Technology Affairs.
The names of the UT Leading Scholars are as follows:
- Dr. Kazem Azizi, Professor of Physics at the College of Science
- Dr. Mahmoud Shah Abadi, Professor of Electrical Engineering at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Engineering
- Dr. Alireza Shakeri, Professor of Chemistry at the College of Science
- Dr. Abbas Ali Saberi, Associate Professor of Physics at the College of Science
- Dr. Farnaz Jafarpour, Associate Professor of Chemistry at the College of Science
- Dr. Kamran Akhbari, Associate Professor of Chemistry at the College of Science
- Dr. Amir Mirzadi Gohari, Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources
- Dr. Alireza Mahmoudian, Assistant Professor at the UT Institute of Geophysics
- Dr. Mojtaba Bagheri, Assistant Professor at the UT Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics
Operating under the auspices and supervision of the Office of the Vice President for Science and Technology Affairs, Iran’s Leading Scholars Federation named 100 academics “Iran’s Leading Scholars” and another 15 academics “Young Leading Scholars” in 1400/2021. The awardees are to receive several funding and support programs, such as research grants, lab network services grants, and postdoctoral fellowships.
