According to UT School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, a group of researchers of UT School of Electrical and Computer Engineering managed to manufacture a pulmotor for patients who are infected with the covid-19 with cooperation of Iran Polymer and Petrochemical Institute. Manufacturing this machine is the result of efforts of the following UT researchers: Dr. Hadi Moradi, Dr. Seyed Kamalodin Setarehdan and also Dr. Morteza Behzadnasab, a member of Iran Polymer and Petrochemical Institute, and through cooperation with Professor Slocum's group at MIT University, this machine has been redesigned and manufactured. Simple and easy process of manufacturing is only one of the advantages of this pulmotor. This machine is accessible in open-source format so that all experts are able to build an example and make use of it. The prototype of this machine was built in Nojan Co., a science-based company at UT Science and Technology Park founded by students and professors of UT School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, by Mohammad Reza Farahnak, Mostafa Derafshian and his team.
