Portugal’s Ambassador in Iran: Portugal Ready to Expand Scientific and Academic Collaborations with UT
Based on a report from the UT International Relations Department, in this meeting, Dr. Nili Ahmadabadi emphasized UT’s willingness to further develop academic and cultural relations with Portuguese universities, particularly in the arenas of exchange programs for students and professors, collaboration on scientific projects, as well as cooperation among the universities’ science and technology parks.
In addition to reaffirming his support for these collaborations, Mr. Carlos da Costa Neves indicated that the Embassy of Portugal in Iran is ready to establish a Portuguese language department at the University of Tehran.
Remarking the UT’s acceptance of a Portuguese student through the ERASMUS program, Mr. Abdolmajid Eskandari, Director General for the Office of International Relations, proposed the organization of an assembly focusing on Iran-Portugal relations.
Subsequently, Dr. Goodarz Rashtiani, Advisor to the Dean for International Relations at the Faculty of Literature and Humanities, traced the historical relations between Iran and Portugal back to the fifteenth century AD, indicating that the UT’s Faculty of Literature and Humanities is ready for organizing a joint conference with Portuguese universities.
