School of Biology

The Department of Biology, currently known as the School of Biology, was established in the present venue in 1949 and began to admit students in undergraduate and graduate programs. At present, the School admits students in the following disciplines and majors at Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. programs:

  • B.Sc. Programs
    Admits students in Biology, which includes four majors in Botanical Sciences, Animal Sciences, Microbiology, and Cellular-Molecular Sciences. The students of these majors learn the specific concepts of each of the four majors.
  • M.Sc. Programs
    Admits students in Botanical Sciences (majors: Physiology and Ecology-Systematic), Animal Sciences (Animal Physiology, Animal Bio-Systematic and Evolutionary Biology), Microbiology and Cellular- Molecular Sciences.
  • Ph.D. Programs
    It admits students at the Ph.D. level in the fields of Botanical Physiology, Botanical Systematic, Animal Physiology, Animal Biosystematics and Microbiology.

From 1999, the Biotechnology Ph.D. joint program has admitted many brilliant and talented students. This prestigious 8 year program (from Diploma to Ph.D.) has attracted the most talented high school students in the region.
