President of Damascus University visits University of Tehran
On 28 January, 2019, a high ranking delegation led by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Maher Kabakibi, President of Damascus University, Syria visited UT and met with Prof. Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi, President of University of Tehran. During this meeting both sides exchanged ideas on the promotion of academic ties between two universities and agreed upon to extend their collaboration on various areas including the followings:
Exchange of students and faculty member, joint/dual degrees, holding joint conferences and workshop, in-service-training for Persian and Arabic languages, cooperating with knowedge-based companies at UT Science and Technology Park, other areas such as fine arts, Islamic banking and economy, agriculture , law and political sciences and any other areas of interest.
Finally at the end of the meeting, a new Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Presidents of both universities. The two sides decided to establish a working group to follow up the contents of mutual MoU . Furthermore, it was decided to expand collaboration between Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Damascus University. University of Tehran also signed this MoU on behalf of Tehran University of Medical Science as the partner university.
It is worth mentioning that before this meeting, the delegation paid a visit to Central Library and Documentation Center, and Institute of Biophysics and Biochemistry and met with Prof. Mousavi Movahedi, Dean of IBB.
