Faculty of World Studies
The graduate Faculty of World Studies, established in 2007, is the first academic institution in Iran dealing with the study of countries and regions around the world and is one of a kind in the Middle East. Although in its embryonic stages, the Faculty has established itself as one of the premier institutions in Iran focusing on an inter-disciplinary approach to the study of political, cultural, economic, and sociological aspects of a given country or region. Hence, each program utilizes visiting scholars for different courses as well as lectures through Video Conferencing with many foreign universities such as Columbia University (USA), The University of London (UK), and New York State University (USA). The faculty is also in the process of establishing 13 new programs at the MA level, with the aim to promote the study of various countries and regions as an academic discipline at the theoretical, strategic, and applied levels. All of the programs are taught in the language of the given country.
