History of Science Research Center 
Founded in 1997, the main objective of the Research Center is to conduct research and teaching in the field of history of science in the Islamic Period. It is currently active in various research projects such as “a word on astronomical tables of the Islamic period” and “The standard of observing the crescent of the moon in Sanjaris creditable astronomical table by Abdolrahman Khazeni”. The Center offers a Master’s program in History of Science, with four orientations, in History of Mathematics, Astronomy, Physics and Technology, Medicine and Pharmacology in the Islamic World. Accordingly, the Center consists of four Research departments of History of Mathematics, Astronomy, Pharmacy, and Physics. A nine-member research council, consisting of faculty members from the faculties of Theology and Islamic Sciences, Literature and Humanities, and Science of the University of Tehran determine the policies and oversee the programs of the Center. The Center has held three international conferences so far, as follows:
•International conference on science and philosophy in the works of Khaje Nasiroldin Toosi, 1996
•International conference on history of science in Iran, 1998
•International conference on history of mathematics, celebrating Alameh Abdolali Birjandi in collaboration with Birjand University, 2002
