Center for Women’s Studies (CWS)
The Center for Women’s Studies (CWS) at the University of Tehran was established in 2001 with the support of the “Center for Women’s Participation”, Office of the President. The objective of the Center is to conduct and support research projects on women’s related issues at both national and international levels.
Since 2003, alongside research, CWS has started to train MA students in the field of women’s studies. Currently, the Center has over 20 MA students. Offering a PhD program is also on the agenda of the Center.

CWS has held more than 19 seminars and 6 workshops with the collaboration of national and international organizations in the past eight years. Furthermore, the Center has signed various agreements with Iranian and foreign institutes, including the United Nations. The Center’s library was established in 2008 with more than 1,000 books and 1,000 journal issues in Persian and English.
